Classroom Happenings for April 16th- 20th, 2018
Note: Our field trip will be tomorrow, Tuesday the 17th. Please make sure your child gets to school on time. We will be gone normal school hours so your child will come to school on his/her regular bus and be sent home on his/her regular bus.
Please make sure your child has breakfast at home because we will not have time to eat breakfast at school in the morning.
If you will be packing a lunch for your child, it must be a “brown bag” lunch as everything will need to be disposed of once lunch is over. We cannot take any belongings in when making our chocolate bar.
Students must wear the blue North Schuylkill t-shirt given to them at the beginning of the school year. They must wear dress code approved pants.
The money for spring photos is due on Wednesday. If you are not purchasing the photos, they must be returned in the envelope by Wednesday.

Monday – (Day 8) Computers – Review List 18 spelling words. Review addition math facts using cards in yellow envelope.
Tuesday (Day 9) – No Homework. Field trip!
Wednesday (Day 10) Art – Write List 18 spelling words 2x each. Read small decodable book “The Big Race” focusing on –er and –est endings.
Thursday (Day 1) Library – Review List 18 spelling words. Read small decodable book “Where is My Badge” focusing on consonant pattern –dge /j/.
Friday (Day 2) Gym Please check the Friday Folder for important papers and tests. Sign any stamped papers and return to school on Monday.

Classroom Happenings for April 2nd- 6th, 2018
Note: Our class field trip will be held on April 17th at Hershey Chocolate World. I have sent home a permission form for each student. Check your child’s take-home folder. Please sign and return the permission form as soon as possible. No one will be able to attend without a signed permission form. Some things to note about our trip… it is scheduled during normal school hours, students do NOT need any spending money, all students must wear the blue Spartan t-shirt given to them from PTO at the beginning of the school year.

Monday – (Day 8) Computers – Review List 16 spelling words, words with inflected –ed ending.
Tuesday (Day 9) Music – Review List 16 spelling words. Review reading words on p. 123 and read Frog and Toad Together. The reading skill for this week is Author’s Purpose. Spelling, phonics, and reading comprehension tests tomorrow.
Wednesday (Day 10) Art – Review addition math facts using cards in yellow envelope.
Thursday (Day 1) Library – Review List 17 spelling words, words with er, ir, ur.
Friday (Day 2) Gym Please check the Friday Folder for important papers and tests. Sign any stamped papers and return to school on Monday.

Classroom Happenings for March 26th- 29th, 2018
Note: This is the last week to send in donations for our class Camping basket. Donations are due on Thursday as I will be shopping for items this weekend. Thank you very much to those parents who have already donated! I truly appreciate your generosity. If you sent in a donation, look in your child’s folder for a coupon for a free dress down day on April 6th! Don’t forget to stop by the auction on April 14th or 15th to check out our “Gone Campin” basket!
March reading logs will be due this Thursday, the 29th. I will give out the April logs on Thursday so the students can get a head start on them over Easter weekend.

Monday – (Day 5) Art – Review List 16 spelling words, words with inflected –ed ending. Look fo corrections in your child’s homework folder.
Tuesday (Day 6) Keyboarding – Review List 16 spelling words. Read small decodable book “Mom Races.” The phonics skill is inflected –ed, -ing endings.
Wednesday (Day 7) Gym– Write List 16 spelling words 2x each. Read small decodable book “Day at the Farm.” Phonics skill is R-controlled ar.
Thursday (Day 8) Computers – Please check the Friday Folder for important papers and tests. Sign any stamped papers and return to school on Monday.
Friday (No School)
